Sustainable Transport and Travel Resources
Transport is the biggest contributor to climate change in the UK. We can do so much by swapping our cars for electric vehicles, cycling, walking or using public transport more, as well as reducing the number of flights we take. Discover local sustainable travel options and resources about electric vehicles, cycling, public transport and eBikes. Cycling and Active Travel
- Bikeability offers training to help people safely ride a bike on the roads with more confidence. Organise a session for your school or community group.
- Encourage your employer to set up a bike-to-work scheme as an employee benefit.
- Ely Cycle Centre are a cycle-to-work dealer. As an employee benefit, you can incentivise workers to swap their car for a bike.
- Ely Cycle Campaign promote cycling in the area and campaign for better cycle facilities.

Public Transport

- The Fully Charged Show is a YouTube channel devoted to clean energy and electric vehicles.
- Zap-Map provides a map of public and community charging points for electric cars across the UK.

Plane Free Travel
Avoiding flying is probably the single largest thing you can do to reduce your own carbon footprint. You can also help support national campaigns on the issue to increase your impact.
- Flight Free UK is a national campaign that encourages people to reduce the number of flights they take in order to reduce emissions from aviation.
- The Man in Seat 61 is a website to help you plan your next national and international rail journey and includes great ideas for holiday destinations.
- Support the A Free Ride campaign to put a levy on frequent flyers and tax according to how often someone flies.
- Climate Perks which incentivise low-carbon travel.
- Interrail, multiday tickets which cover travel across Europe, this can be a cheaper alternative to booking return journeys.
- Flixbus, cheap international coach travel.
