"Working to create a greener and low-carbon community"
The East Cambridgeshire Climate Action Network is working in partnership with Soham Town Council to develop and run the “Soham Greener Together” Initiative to inspire, educate and persuade the people of the town of Soham and the surrounding areas to work together on projects that create a greener, lower carbon community that reduces the impact of climate change and increases the biodiversity of their community.
Design a logo Competition
We inviting local people 25 yrs. or younger who live, work or are educated in the Town of Soham to produce a design for the “Soham Greener Together” logo. The logo will be used on all future events under this Initiative.
First Prize £50
The competition is open from the 2 September with a closing date on the 20 September 2024. The logo will be judged on the 21 September 2024 to enable the winner to be announced and the logo to be unveiled at the Pumpkin Fair on Saturday the 28 September 2024.
We would be looking for a simple design that reflects the town of Soham, issues around climate change and the need to increase the biodiversity of the area and reduce air and water pollution. In addition to the design we want you to write a short statement explaining why you choose your design.
The design must be submitted in a digital high resolution format as a jpeg or png file. They should be submitted to Peter Bates, Chair of East Cambridgeshire Climate Action network via email peter@eastcambscan.org with the subject heading “Soham Logo Competition”. Do’t forget to submit your written statement just as a word document.
Rules of the Competition
- The competition is open to anyone who is 25 yrs old or younger who lives, works or is educated within the town of Soham.
- Anyone under 18 yrs will have to give their age and get their parents permission to take part in the competition.
- Judging will be based solely on the design and the statement submitted. Age/Sex will not be taken into consideration.
- Upon submission all designs and statements become copyright of the designer, East Cambridgeshire Climate Action Network and Soham Town Council. They may be displayed at a future event or activity.
- The winning design will be displayed on all publicity material and other associated materials that form part of the Soham Greater Together Initiative. All submissions will need to be in a digital format which is in as highest quality as possible.
- You will need to agree to take part in any publicity related to this competition.
The judges decision is final.
The deadline for submissions is 18:00 hrs on Friday 20 September 2024.
