Flight Free UK Live Event in Cambridge

East Cambs CAN will be attending the Flight Free Live Event in Cambridge at the end of February. Will you come along too?

How much does flying contribute to the climate crisis? Is it possible to still go on holiday without getting on a plane? Can my one action make a difference?

These are the questions we’ll be exploring at our public event being held in Cambridge on 29th February 2024.

‘Travel, flying and the climate crisis’ will explore the reasons for flying less and look at the climate science of aviation emissions. There will be some practical tips for travelling without flying, and some inspiring examples of holiday destinations that can be reached overland.

The speaker lineup will feature local activists and experts, including Professor Julian Allwood from the University of Cambridge, a representative from Cambridge Carbon Footprint, travel experts from Kuoni Travel, and Anna Hughes from Flight Free UK.

Flight Free UK is a charity that encourages people to travel without flying and runs the inspirational Flight Free Challenge, whereby people stay grounded for a year to reduce emissions and try the alternatives.

The event will be held at the Signal Box Centre, 28 Glenalmond Avenue CB2 8DB, and is open to all. Start time is 6.45pm and finish time is 8.30pm. There will be hot drinks and refreshments available.
