Fenland Futures

We need new stories to face the challenges of our changing future.

Fenland Futures invites you to explore visions of the 27th century, where banners from imagined festivals reveal how future societies might live in a post-carbon world.

These artefacts show what future people might value, how they might connect, and how they live in harmony with nature. What can their myths teach us about the communities we want to build today?

The event

The event will showcase three banner designs inspired by the work of young people from Soham Village College. These banners show young people’s hopes for the future of Soham – inspired by medeival fenland manuscripts from the Fitzwilliam museum. Together we will imagine possible futures for Soham and discuss what needs to change today to make these futures possible.

Timings

The event will run from 5.30-7.00

We will start with 15 minutes of drinks, with the main event running 5.45-6.45.

Please feel free to drop-in for part of the event if you are not able to make the whole thing.
