Ely Imaginarium

12 October @ 10:00 - 17:00

Imaginariums are pop up events which invite everyone to join in and unleash their creativity as we imagine our homes, streets, and towns with gentler, thriving,  connected  communities and more space for nature.   They encourage ideas, conversations and inspiration from around the world, and invited use to paints, pens and recycled materials to share the hopes and issues that are important to you.  You can stop by for five minutes or a few hours.

Our Ely Imaginarium also coincides with a National Day of Action by The Climate Coalition. With a new Government now in place, we have an opportunity to show our elected officials that we want to see them take action to tackle climate change and protect and restore nature at the top of their agenda, right from the start. Ely and East Cambridgeshire’s local MP Charlotte Cane has already been approached and has pencilled in attending our event.

The purpose of this Imaginarium is likely to invite people to think about the future of Ely and the surrounding areas as to what they would like to see happen from the perspective dealing with climate change, reducing pollution and increasing the biodiversity of the environment.

The Ely Imaginarium event planned for Saturday 12 October 2024, at St Mary’s Church. This follows on from our successful The Imaginarium will be a pop-up event, inviting residents to imagine the future of their homes and streets over the next two to twenty-five years, giving us their ideas, or suggesting successful examples from elsewhere, adding them to a list and a map of Ely.
