The Ely Repair Cafe is back again in Ely Library and will help you save money and reduce your impact on the environment
Do you have something that’s broken that you don’t know how to fix but can’t bring yourself to throw away? Something like a toaster, kettle, lamp, bag, toy, jewellery, pair of jeans or computer?
Bring it along to the Repair Cafe being held on Saturday 25th May from 11.00am – 2.00pm in Ely Library and get it seen to by an experienced volunteer repairer for free. They will pinpoint the problem and try to fix it there and then for you, or let you know what spare parts to get for when you come back next time.Â
The Ely Repair Cafe Team had a hugely successful Repair Cafe back in January 2024. A total of 26 items, prevented 69kg of waste and 230kg of CO2 emissions – that’s like growing 4 tree seedlings for 10 years!
Repair Cafes don’t just save money and reduce waste, they also bring people together. Our repairers are keen to share their skills, stop things going to landfill and reduce the impact that buying new stuff has on the environment.Â
The Ely Repair Cafe Team are looking for general volunteers and repairers to help on the day and at future cafes. So click here to get in touch with them.
Please note that our repairers may not always be able to fix things, but will try their best.Â

The Ely Repair Cafe and the Littleport Repair Cafe are both spin-offs of  an event that was organised by the East Cambridgeshire Climate Network in September 2023. Other Repair Cafes exist in East Cambridgeshire at Burwell, Haddenham, and Soham.
