Cambridgeshire Climate Risks : How to respond? – Webinar

This webinar took place in November 2023 following Carbon Neutral Cambridge’s (CNC) brief formal AGM. Baroness Brown of Cambridge, shared her views on the key climate related risks facing the Cambridgeshire region, and discussed what we should be doing as councils, businesses and individuals to mitigate and prepare.

Baroness Brown of Cambridge (Professor Dame Julia King) DBE FREng FRS,

She is Chair of the Adaptation Committee of the UK’s Climate Change Committee, an engineer and a fellow of Churchill College, with a career spanning senior engineering and leadership roles in industry and academia.

Her interests include climate change adaptation and mitigation and the low carbon economy. In this area she currently serves as: Vice Chair of the Committee on Climate Change and Chair of the Adaptation Sub-Committee; non-executive director of the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult; member of the WEF Global Agenda Council on Decarbonising Energy. She was non-executive director of the Green Investment Bank, she led the King Review on decarbonising transport (2008), and she is the UK’s Low Carbon Business Ambassador.

She is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering and of the Royal Society, and was awarded DBE for services to higher education and technology. She is a crossbench Peer, a member of the House of Lords European Union Select Committee, and Chair of the House of Lords Science and Technology Select Committee.
