Burwell’s First Swish – 23 March 2024

Burwell’s First Swish

Sat 23 Mar 2024, 1:15pm – 4:00pm

Swap your way to a new wardrobe.

Swishes are clothes swap parties, a fun and free way to update your wardrobe without having to buy new clothes. The fashion industry has a huge environmental footprint, leading to more carbon emissions than aviation and shipping combined, and is often exploitative of workers too.  An average Briton’s wardrobe contains 57 unworn items!

Burwell’s first Swish is on Saturday 23rd March at Mandeville Hall. Drop off your items at 1:15pm, and while we sort your clothes, there will be refreshments  and environmentally friendly stalls from local groups.  Swishing will start at 2pm and end at 4pm.

Bring women’s, men’s, children’s clothes, shoes and accessories in good, clean condition. You can bring and take as much as you like.  This is a free event, donations gratefully received to cover our costs.

This Swish is part of Burwell’s Climate Change Forum which has already held 6 Repair Cafes. Our aim is to help people make changes to their lifestyles and practices; to improve the sustainability of our village, making it greener and a better place for our residents.
